Be vigilant and guard with diligence

2 Corinthians 2: 3-11

Beloved as a child of God, a servant of His and a brother or sister in Him we must truly Be sober, be vigilant; because our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8 and believe you me when we start living a life that is pleasing unto God we will automatically become a foe of the sure of that.

As children of the God of love one thing Satan attacks is our ability to love like our father loves....for nothing sets us apart more than when we love like God loves. Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law Romans 13:10 and it is how we are identified as being of God...through love John 13:35.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it Proverbs 4:23.

A quick and sure way the enemy will use to get to our heart disallowing us to love like God loves is through offenses...beloved unforgiveness, hurt, betrayal are the devils playground....this is not minimising or invalidating the experience we have been through but a call to beware of the enemies evil schemes. If we linger too long in offense we give him direct access to our whilst our grievances may be valid don't wallow in it. We can't control how others treat us but we can certainly determine how much air time that offense gets in our minds and hearts.

On the same token beloved, as brothers and sisters in Christ let us be careful how we treat each we handle each others hearts...for without realising we could be the very vessel the enemy uses to attack each other for the unity we share in love is something the enemy hates because the devil knows there is power in unity and in Christ's redeemed us from the pit of it goes without saying he will oppose it.

Today's scripture we see Jesus praying to God for His disciples and this is applicable to us...the disciples of today. He said... I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth John 17:14‭-‬19.

We sanctify ourselves through the purifying power of the word of God by allowing it to be the filter with which we think our thoughts, speak our words and live out our lives... and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7.
