If he calls you to it he will equip you for it….

John 10

In this passage of scripture, we see Jesus using the illustration of a Shepherd and his sheep, depicting Jesus as our True Shepherd. Jesus explains that the Shepherd will call the sheep by name as he leads them out, and when he brings the sheepout, the Shepherd will go before them….and in V4 it states that the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

We are ALL called for a purpose and on purpose….but it is up to us to discover what that purpose is….and when we do, we are reminded in the scripture above that he who calls us will not only bring us out but will go before us…we need only follow him and his voice.

To know the Shepherds voice the Sheep need to have spent time with him….similarly, we will only know the voice of our Shepherd if we’ve spent time with him.

John 10:5 states that ‘Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers’.

When we’ve taught ourselves to know the voice of our Shepherd we will be able to weed out the voices that are not his. For just as our Shepherd calls us out, the adversary will try to cancel that out.

Today’s passage of scripture brings comfort for we are reassured that regardless of what it is, if God calls us to it….he will equip us for it, for he does not call the equipped but he equips the called.

Beloved Jesus is our true Shepherd, and he is calling you out…..

The place where God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet”

John 15:16

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
