It is not about You

Galatians 2:20

Once we are saved and commence our walk of Faith with the Lord our eyes become opened to the truth that it really is not about us. Jesus was the ultimate example of a life that fully understood this.

What Easter reminds us of is not only the amazing and costly gift of Salvation that is available to us as sons and daughters of Christ but that like Jesus, our lives really aren’t our own.

Galatians 2:20 says I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

We were bought in full to not then live for ourselves but to use our freedom to free others. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. Philippians 2:3-4.

We learn not to do anything out of selfish ambition when we nail our desires to the cross in exchange for our Fathers desires and His purposes becomes ours. It is not instantaneous nor is it easy but we ask that the Lord gives us His eyes and heart ….that we will love the things he loves and that the things that grieves Him will grieve us.

Regardless of how we feel there is always someone whose burdens we can help carry, a weary heart we can cheer or a practical need we could meet….but sometimes our inability to look past ourselves sees us missing golden opportunities to be God’s hands and feet to those around us. Most of humanities problem can to some extent be linked back to each looking out only for itself instead of the good of others.

So trade your will for God’s and your little kingdoms in return for His and as you do this He will then be able to use you as vessels of deliverance to others.

Take a moment to look around….a smile, helping hand, a kind word are but the little we can do with such everlasting rewards and as we are reminded in Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
